Tigers Shutout On The Road At Capital

BEXLEY, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's soccer team suffered a second consecutive loss at the hands of Capital, falling by a 4-0 mark Thursday night. The Tigers record fell to 1-6-1 on the season.

Wittenberg managed 10 shots in the match, but Capital shot 17 times, forcing sophomore goalkeeping pair Michael Lambeck (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) and David Rea (Rocky River, Ohio/Rocky River) into five saves and two goals allowed each.

The Wittenberg offense shot just three times in the first period, but rebounded with seven in the second, though none found the net. Junior midfielder Nate Ayres (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) led the Tigers with two shots, one on goal, as the team put only four shots on goal to Capital's 14.

Capital took an early lead with two goals in the first 10 minutes of action, and waited until the 57th minute to score their third, adding their fourth and final goal in the 76th.
