Frantic Terrier Rally Downs Tigers

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead, but it would not hold up against a feisty Hiram College Terrier squad as Wittenberg fell in overtime 4-3 on Senior Night.

In spite of Shane Price (Minford, Ohio/Minford) brace before halftime - the second coming on a spectacular cross from Ryan Ruef (Plain City, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) - the visiting Terriers played the more inspired soccer after the break. A trio of goals in less than 14 minutes had the Tigers reeling in the second stanza.

Moments after the Terriers' third, however, the Tigers leveled the match thanks to a Brian Glenn (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) penalty kick in the 83rd minute. The goal would only temporaily ease the Tiger pain, as sophomore forward Cole Miller tallied a hat trick, with the game-winner coming six minutes into the second overtime session.

Coming off of back-to-back losses for the first time in 2008, the Tigers will look to rebound when they get a rematch with the same Hiram Terriers team. This time, the two teams will meet in the NCAC tournament, with the game to be played at Hiram College. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
