Wittenberg Men Record Third Shutout in Four Games to Complete Scoreless Day for Rose-Hulman Soccer

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - After the Tiger women earned their fourth consecutive shutout against the Rose-Hulman women, the Wittenberg men must have felt compelled to make it four straight scoreless periods on the day for the Rose-Hulman soccer program, because that's what they did.

The Tiger men opened up for six goals against the Engineers, evenly split between periods. Senior midfielder Joe Zeller (Springfield, Ohio/North) scored two of them, his first of the season. Junior forward Matt Borland (Kettering, Ohio/Alter) also put in two, for his fourth and fifth of the season.

Although the Tiger goalkeeper did not get a chance to score a goal this time, junior Nick Ferrari (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) did see his first minutes of 2007. He posted one save in his 27 minutes in goal in relief of senior starter Ben McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, Ore./Cleveland). The shutout was Wittenberg's third in the first five games of the 2007 season.

The Tigers travel to the Centre College Tournament next weekend, where they will take on Emory University on Friday and nationally ranked Centre College on Saturday.
