Wittenberg Ties Calvin In First Round Of Kiwanis Classic at Wilmington College

WILMINGTON, Ohio - After 120 minutes, the Wittenberg Tigers and Calvin Knights were unable to settle things on the pitch, ending things in a 0-0 tie in the first round of the Kiwanis Classic at Wilmington College.

The Tigers are now 3-3-1 overall, heading into Saturday's 5 p.m. game against Centre College at Wilmington. The Knights are now 2-2-1 with a date opposite host Wilmington at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Calvin held the advantage in shots by a narrow 17-15 margin, while Wittenberg had the upper hand in corner kicks, 12-7. Calvin's goalkeepers were forced into seven saves in the game, compared to just three for Wittenberg junior Ben McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, Ore./Cleveland).

Offensively, the Tigers did get five shots, including three on goal, from sophomore Matt Borland (Kettering, Ohio/Alter). Sophomore Shane Price (Minford, Ohio/Minford) added three shots.
