GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Lesson learned. After giving up six goals in a loss to Wilmington on Wednesday, the Wittenberg Tigers got defensive Saturday in a 1-0 road win over perennial powerhouse DePauw.

The Wittenberg Tigers evened their record at 2-2 heading into a third consecutive difficult road test on Sunday at Rose-Hulman. The DePauw Tigers slipped to 1-2 on the young season.

Making his first start of the 2006 season in goal, junior Ben McAnnis-Entenman (Portland, Ore./Cleveland) combined with senior Adam Horrocks (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes) to turn away nine shots and gain the much-needed shutout. DePauw outshot Wittenberg 14-6, but only sophomore Jimmy Thinnes (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) broke through, scoring an unassisted goal for the visitors in the 15th minute of the game.
