Wittenberg Upends Rose-Hulman in OT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The 2004 season is still in its infancy, and already this year's Wittenberg men's soccer team is finding ways to win that its predecessors in recent seasons hadn't. For the second straight game, the Tigers pulled out a one-goal victory, this time by a 2-1 score in overtime over homestanding Rose-Hulman.

Sophomore Sebastian Missura scored the game-winner, this time a little over five minutes into overtime. A week ago, Missura scored his third goal of the game with seven minutes remaining to snap a 3-3 tie with Notre Dame College in the consolation game of the Wittenberg Invitational.

After a scoreless first half, the Tigers rallied from a 1-0 deficit with a goal by freshman Evan Ingram in the game's 56th minute. That set the stage for Missura's overtime heroics.

Defensively, the Tigers allowed just 10 Rose-Hulman shots, to 15 by Wittenberg, and just three of them went directly on goal. Sophomore Adam Horrocks got the start in goal and finished with two saves.

The Tigers are back in action Sunday at DePauw, a perennial powerhouse. Game time is set for 2 p.m. (CST), or approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game between the two schools.
