Wittenberg Defeats Earlham, 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers made the relatively short trip to Earlham College on Tuesday and came away with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Quakers. The win improved Wittenberg to 6-7 overall on the 2004 season, but more importantly the Tigers are now 3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Earlham dropped to 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

The Tigers got a goal from junior midfielder Matt Berry off a feed from sophomore midfielder Sebastian Missura to take the lead, and freshman goalkeeper Ben McAnnis-Entenman made it stand up with his third shutout in five starts in goal.

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday with a home game against the Hiram Terriers. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
