Tigers Take Down DePauw in Must Win Game

Springfield, OH- The Tigers returned home to compete against DePauw under the lights. The must win game for Wittenberg led the Red & White to a 9-7 final score, advancing their record and putting them closer to tournament play.

Highlights- The Tigers got things started with a behind the back goal from Nicholas Langenderfer off of an assist from Dillon McKeigue. The duo was back with Wittenberg's second goal to head into the second quarter with a 2-1 lead. McKeigue along with Kody Gould got in on the scoring action in the second, Gould tallied two to keep the Tigers ahead by one at the half. Wittenberg's 'FOGO' man Colten Simkins put Wittenberg's sixth goal in the net but DePauw was able to tie the game heading into the final quarter of play. The Red & White were able to take the lead in the fourth with goals from McKeigue, Nathan Brown, and Kody Gould from Brown. The 9-7 win for the Tigers leaves them with a 4-3 conference record and three game win streak.

In goal for the Tigers was Will Westermeyer. Westermeyer saw a total of 16 shots on the day with nine saves. Defensively, Wittenberg out hustled DePauw, picking up 28 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, being led by Colten Simkins with nine ground balls on the day.
