Tigers Start Win Streak in the Steemer

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg took on the Pioneers of Transylvania University in the Steemer. The Tigers were able to lead in ground balls, saves, clear attempts, and face-off wins in their 14-8 victory. The win over the Pioneers starts a three-game win streak for the Tigers.

Highlights- Wittenberg was led by freshman, Kyle Gould and Dillon McKeigue with four goals each. Wittenberg dominated in the first three quarters with their highest scoring quarter being the second with six goals. The Tigers tallied five goals in the first period with five different players putting points on the board and taking a 5-1 lead over the Pioneers. Wittenberg continued to hammer down on Transylvania in the second quarter, putting six more points on the board with McKeigue and Gould each picking up a hat-trick. The Tigers would put three more shots in the back of the net in the third quarter, scoring their 14th and final point.

Scoring for Wittenberg were Zach Busby, Connor Matthews (2), Dillon McKeigue (4), Nathan Brown (2), Nicholas Langenderfer, and Kyle Gould (4).

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Will Westermeyer and Chase Singleton, facing 23 shots and picking up 15 saves on the day. Defensively, Wittenberg tallied 46 ground balls, being led by Colten Simkins with nine on the day.
