Red & White Fall in Second Half Comeback

Georgetown, TX- Wittenberg headed to Georgetown, Texas for their spring break trip, opening with a match against the Pirates of Southwestern. The Tigers were unable to pick up their first win of the season, facing a 14-9 loss against a tough competitor out of the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference.

Highlights- Scoring first for Wittenberg was Matt Selan unassisted in the first quarter, the freshman's first collegiate goal. The Tigers came back in the second quarter with goal number two and three from Nathan Brown unassisted and Holton Boehmer from Nicholas Langenderfer on a man-up opportunity. Wittenberg headed into the half down 8-3 but came out to score the first goal of the third quarter with Ethan Pac being fed from Blake Roller. Also scoring in the third were Mitchell Steinker unassisted and Nathan Brown with his second of the day from Connor Matthews. Matthews would be back in the fourth quarter with a goal of his own to lessen the Pirates lead to five before Zach Busby and Ethan Pac (assisted by Brown) would score back-to-back to lessen the lead to three.

Splitting time in goal were Chase Singleton and Will Westermeyer. The pair faced a total of 23 shots and had nine saves on the day.
