Tigers Fall in Season Opener at Adrian

Adrian, MI- Wittenberg opened their season on the road against the Bulldogs of Adrian College. Wittenberg started the first half of the game from behind, going into the half with a 6-3 score but were able to come back and tie the match in the fourth quarter. Unable to finish the fourth quarter ahead, Wittenberg fell to Adrian with a score of 12-8.

Highlights- Wittenberg's goals were scored by six different Tigers, being led by Ben Holland and Kody Gould with two goals each. Scoring in the second quarter were Dillion McKeigue and Ben Holland. Freshman Dillion McKeigue was able to put the first point on the board for the Tigers at the 11:36 mark. The Tigers were able to lessen the Bulldog lead to three with Kody Gould picking up his first goal of the season to end the second quarter, heading into the half with a 6-3 score. Holland came back in the third quarter with two assists to Nathan Brown and Zach Busby along with a goal of his own to bring the Red & White within two. In the final quarter of play Gould put two goals on the board back-to-back with assists from Nathan Brown to tie the game with eight to play. The Bulldogs were able to pull ahead in the final minutes to end the game with a final score of 12-8.
