Tigers End Season on the Road

Granville, OH- Wittenberg hit the road for their final match-up of the 2021 season against the Denison Big Red. The Tigers fell behind early in the first quarter and were not able to bounce back. Wittenberg dropped to Denison with a final score of 24-4 to end their season with a 5-7 record.

Wittenberg was able to get on the board once in each quarter with goals from Andrew Ellis, Kody Gould, Connor Rice, and Noah Mackin. Ellis, assisted by Lucas Klever, was able to get through Denison defense in the first quarter on a man-up opportunity to send the Tigers into the second quarter down 5-1. Gould was able to get Wittenberg's second point of the game with another assist from Klever and the Red & White went into the half down 12-2. Connor Rice and Noah Mackin both had unassisted goals to give Wittenberg their final points and a score of 24-4 to end the game.

Leading the Tigers in goal was Max Cavellier with 21 saves on 43 shots. Wittenberg led the game in saves with a total of 22. Wittenberg will retire their season with a record of 5-7 and will graduate eight of their nine seniors.
