Klever Tabs 100th Career Point

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home for their first match-up in a series against Denison. The Tigers came off of a four-game win streak over DePauw and Wabash heading into their match-up against the Big Red but were unable to continue their streak. Wittenberg fell with a final score of 22-4.

Wittenberg was able to get through Denison defense in the first quarter with a goal from Lucas Klever, unassisted. The Big Red were able to pull away and headed into the second quarter with a 7-1 score.  Wittenberg got their second point of the game with a goal from Kody Gould, assisted by Klever. The assist gave Klever his 100th career point and 42nd point of the season. The Tigers came back with another goal in the second from Andrew Ellis but trailed 11-3 heading into the third quarter. Connor Rice was able to put the last point on the board for the Tigers to end the fourth quarter with a final score of 22-4.

In the net for the Tigers was Max Cavellier with 14 saves on the day. Prior to tonight's game Lucas Klever and Andrew Ellis were tied for third with 23 goals each on the season. Klever also appeared in the NCAC's top five, ranking fourth in assists with 17 and third in points with 40.

Up Next: The Tigers will return to action on May 2nd for another match-up against the Big Red on the road. Game time is set for 1PM.
