Tigers Land Three on All-NCAC Squad

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-- Wittenberg men's lacrosse landed three on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Squad, the league office announced on Wednesday. The Tiger's honorees were highlighted by second team defenseman Anthony LeBarge III, and honorable mention selections Noah Moderwell and Lucas Klever. Wittenberg finished the 2017 campaign with a 6-9 overall mark, and a 4-4 NCAC record.

LeBarge landed on the second-team for the second consecutive year, as the sophomore Cincinnati native led the Tigers in 2018 with 71 ground-balls and 31 caused-turnovers. LeBarge averaged 5.07 ground-balls per-contest on the year, good enough for sixth in the NCAC. A headache for the opposing offenses all year long, LeBarge led the Tigers with 31 caused turnovers, as the Tigers totaled 121 as a team.

A stalwart on the Tiger's offense for the second year in row, Moderwell earned honorable mention honors at attack after averaging 3.7 points-per-game in 2018. The Libertyville, Illinois native recorded 40 goals and 15 assists in total on the year, accounting for 25% of all Tiger goals scored this season. Moderwell's 55 points led Wittenberg, as the sophomore has totaled 76 goals, 32 assists and 59 ground-balls in two seasons in Springfield.

In his first season in Springfield, Klever impressed for Coach Owen's youthful squad, as the Lebanon, Ohio native earned honorable mention honors at midfield for Wittenberg. Klever tallied 20 goals and seven assists on the year, averaging two-points per-contest in his first season of collegiate lacrosse.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Peter Hamblett and the Denison duo of junior Henry DeCamp and sophomore Peter Pittroff were named the Players of the Year to highlight the 2018 All-North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse team after balloting by the league coaches.
