Men's Lacrosse Set to Honor Senior Class and Colleen Dobbins Foundation on Saturday

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—With over 118,000 people awaiting an organ donor in the US, and with another person being added to the list every ten minutes, Wittenberg men's lacrosse will utilize their senior day to make a difference.

Donate Life will be present at the men's game against Kenyon Saturday, taking place at Edwards-Maurer Field at 2:00pm. The organization will be offering the opportunity for anyone in attendance to register to become an organ donor and be a hero.

To the naked eye, the lime green initials "CJD" are most likely not seen on the back of the Tiger's helmets from the bleachers, but the message that Coach Owen has shared with his players in regards to those initials is something that can be seen within his program.
In 2011, Colleen Dobbins passed away after being shaken by her babysitter at the tender age of five months. The Dobbins family, close friends of the Owen family, created the Colleen Dobbins Foundation shortly after her passing, dedicating their work to preventing the shaking and abuse of young children through research, legislation and community awareness.

Miraculously enough, CJD donated life, saving the lives of two children through her organ donation. Her liver, pancreas and small bowel saved a baby girl, and her heart saved a newborn baby boy.

The Tigers are 5-5 this season, as they set to honor the senior class of 2017 prior to Saturday's NCAC bout with the Lords of Kenyon College. The team hopes to see the community in attendance, supporting Donate Life and the Colleen Dobbins Foundation.
