he Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced the NCAA Division III All Region Teams over the weekend. Wittenberg landed two on West Region’s First Team; David Strahm and Aaron Blossey.
The Tigers honorees were highlighted by first team goalie Aaron Blossey and first team long stick midfielder, David Strahm. Wittenberg finished the 2017 campaign with a 9-7 overall mark, and a 6-2 NCAC record after bowing out in the NCAC Tournament semifinals to #19 Ohio Wesleyan University, 9-7.
Despite exiting the first quarter with the game tied at 1-1, Wittenberg managed to score nine goals in the second quarter, taking a commanding 10-3 lead before eventually downing Wabash 19-6.
Wittenberg trailed 4-1 at the end of the first-quarter before tying the game up at 5-5 at halftime against Wooster, as the Tigers managed to hold the Fighting Scots to one goal in quarter number three on their way to a 13-7 win.
Donate Life will be present at the men’s game against Kenyon Saturday, taking place at Edward-Maurer Field at 2:00pm. The organization will be offering the opportunity for anyone in attendance to register to become an organ donor and be a hero.
In a game that was rescheduled due to inclement weather, the Tigers played 11 minutes of quarter number one against Capital before going into a two-hour lightning delay.
Freshman attack Noah Moderwell had a breakout game in his collegiate debut by scoring three goals, scooping up eight ground balls and causing one turnover.
