Men's Lacrosse Cruises Past DePauw as Fuss Twins Chase Down History

GREENCASTLE, Indiana—Men's lacrosse managed to steer the ship back to .500 in NCAC play on Wednesday, as the Tigers matched up with DePauw on the road. When the dust settled, the Wittenberg Tigers came out on top in the battle of the Tigers, 17-8. Wittenberg jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the first-quarter, and did not look back, leading 12-4 at halftime. While the Tigers are now 3-3 in NCAC play, attention shifts to Andrew Fuss (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and his place in the record books.  The senior recorded four more points Wednesday night, netting three goals and dishing out one assist, tying Wittenberg's career points record at 168. Andrew now sits toe-to-toe with Wittenberg great Jeff Mayer, who complied 168 points from 1987-1990 for the Tigers. Appropriately enough, Andrew's record tying night was matched by his brother Thomas Fuss (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) who sent four goals home for the Tigers and also recorded two assists.  Thomas is now one goal shy of tying Wittenberg's all time career goal record of 110, and two points shy of tying Andrew at the top of the all time points list. Wittenberg now checks in at 7-5 overall in 2016, and an even 3-3 in NCAC play.
