SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Men's lacrosse took care of the visiting Bulldogs of Adrian College Tuesday night in Springfield, 18-6. In a penalty ridden game, Wittenberg was able to stick with their offensive game-plan and get great opportunities around the net all afternoon. The home team took an 8-1 lead into half-time and did not look back, leading 14-2 heading in to the fourth quarter. The win puts the Tigers at a 5-2 mark on the season, while currently sitting 1-0 in NCAC play.
GAME BREAKDOWN
- The second quarter proved to be good to the Tigers, as they were able to net four total goals in the period as Andrew and Thomas Fuss (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) each netted two apiece.
- Thomas Fuss' fifth goal of the half put the Tigers up 14-2 heading in to the fourth quarter.
- Wittenberg would add four more goals in the fourth quarter from four different scorers; Thomas Fuss, Zach Shy (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) Jack Strahm (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and TJ Smith (Atlanta, Georgia/The Marist School).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Fuss brothers combined for eight goals and nine assists in the 18-6 victory Tuesday night.
- The Tigers managed to get 55 shots off in the offensive barrage, while the Tiger defense only allowed Adrian to get 25 shots off.
- Tuesday night's game featured nearly 19 minutes of penalty time between both sides.
