Tigers' Season Ends Against Denison In NCAC Tournament

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Wittenberg men's lacrosse team's season came to a conclusion on Wednesday night with a 19-5 loss to Denison in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament semifinals.

The Tigers finish the season with an overall record of 9-6. Denison grabbed a 7-1 by the end of the first quarter and never looked back, scoring seven unanswered goals in the second quarter and winning the third and fourth quarters 2-1 and 5-3, respectively.

Sophomore Zach Shy (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) led the offense with one goal and one assist. Senior Matt Hugdahl (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), junior Will Stocker (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin), junior Sean Kelleher (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and sophomore Joseph Crawford (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) all scored one goal apiece. Junior Andrew Fuss (New Albany, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) and junior TJ Smith (Atlanta, Ga./The Marist School) each tallied an assist.

Senior Riley Boehm (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) won 11 faceoffs and picked up seven ground balls to lead that effort, followed by Crawford with three pickups. Boehm also had a caused turnover, joined in the column by Smith, Kelleher, Crawford, junior Conor O'Brien (York, Maine/York) and senior Ryan Spitzer (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson).

Senior Jay Dolan (Andover, Mass./Phillips Andover) and sophomore Nick Gregory (Mukilteo, Wash./Kamiak) split the game in the goal with Dolan making two saves and Gregory making five.
