Men's Lacrosse Supports Breast Cancer Research At Fall Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Exemplifying a commitment to service, the Wittenberg University men's lacrosse fall schedule will include the Burning River College Lacrosse Showcase, a fundraiser for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

The event, entering its fourth year, promotes the Spielman Fund in support of research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

Other participating teams include Mercyhurst, Seton Hill, Lake Erie, Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan, Hiram, Walsh, Kenyon, Washington & Jefferson, Detroit-Mercy and Saint Vincent.

The tournament takes place Sunday, Oct. 13, at Walton Stadium on the campus of Hawken School in Chesterland, Ohio. With over $30,000 raised for breast cancer research so far, the event's organizers hope to raise $10,000 this year.

Tickets are available for $10 at the gate, or $5 in advance at any Burning River Lacrosse event or over the phone at 216-373-5684.
