SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg men's lacrosse team defeated Wooster for the third-straight year with a dramatic come-from-behind 7-6 win Saturday, moving back to even at 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference in the process.

The Tigers beat the Fighting Scots for the fourth time in five years thanks to two goals in the closing minutes of the game. Down 6-5 with three minutes remaining, freshman Andrew Morrison (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) fired in the game-tying shot, and 1:01 later, sophomore Jack Bornhofen (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh) followed it up with the go-ahead goal.

While the Scots possessed the ball throughout most of the final two minutes, their three shots were all off the mark, and their offensive efforts were not helped by a 30-second penalty with 1:17 remaining.

Morrison ended up the offensive leader with three goals and one assist, the only Tiger with at least one of each. Bornhofen finished the game with two goals, while junior Tyler Hall (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Twp.) and freshman Brandon Keiser (Reistertown, Md./Park School) each chipped in one goal.

Freshman Matt Hugdahl (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) and junior Alex Previte (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) each notched one assist in the game, and freshman Riley Boehm (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) paced the roster with four ground balls. Senior goalkeeper Spencer Baker (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) made 10 saves to keep the Scots under control.

Wittenberg faces rival Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in Delaware, Ohio, in the final NCAC contest of the season before closing out the regular season at home against Otterbein on Tuesday, May 1, at 7 p.m.
