Wittenberg Pulls Out 14-13 Thriller At St. Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. - In a riveting contest filled with end-to-end action and numerous momentum shifts, the Wittenberg men's lacrosse team notched their fourth win of the season with a come-from-behind 14-13 win over St. Vincent.

Sophomore attacker Brady Christensen (Medina, Ohio/Medina) tallied the winner with only 26 seconds remaining to cap off the seesaw matchup. Looking well in control up 6-1 midway through the second period, the Tigers offense hit a dry spell, allowing the hosts to claw back to tie the match up at seven.

In a flash, the Tigers were back up four after a flurry of goals, including one from sophomore defender Ryan Spain (Concord, N.H./Bishop Brady). Once again, St. Vincent responded, taking their first lead of the contest with less than three minutes to play. However, sophomore Mitch Cohagan (Pickerington, Ohio/North) had the immediate answer to tie the game, setting up the last minute drama.

A 4-1 mark on the season leads Wittenberg into a stern test to begin conference play. The Red & White head to Granville to take on defending North Coast Athletic Conference champion Denison for a game under the lights at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.
