Men’s Lacrosse Game To Be Broadcast By New Television Network

Springfield, Ohio — A new television network has chosen the men’s lacrosse game between North Coast Athletic Conference rivals Wittenberg University and Denison University for its first-ever broadcast of a collegiate sporting event.

The game between the Tigers and the Big Red, scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Denison’s Deeds-Piper Field, will be broadcast in its entirety on tape delay at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29, on Columbus Sports Network (CSN). The game will be shown again immediately after the first airing, and it will be broadcast a third time at 7 p.m. Friday, March 30.

The men’s lacrosse game event is just the second broadcast event since the network’s official launch on March 24, when it televised an Arena Football League game between the Columbus Destroyers and the Chicago Rush. Wittenberg and Denison are two of six central Ohio small colleges that have an agreement with CSN to broadcast a wide array of varsity sports offerings.

On-air talent for Wednesday's game will be Randy Rhinehart (play-by-play) and Kimberly Lowe (analyst). Wittenberg comes into the game with a 3-2 record after suffering an 11-9 loss at St. Vincent College on March 24, including a mark of 1-0 in the NCAC. Preseason NCAC favorite and defending conference champion Denison enters with a 4-2 record overall and is coming off a 14-6 victory over Greensboro College on March 24.

CSN will televise more than 250 local events each year, showcasing central Ohio's professional, collegiate, scholastic and amateur sports. CSN is broadcast on Channels 78 and 524 on the Insight cable system, Channel 97 on the WOW cable system, and over-the-air on Channel 32. Time Warner Cable Mid-Ohio Division plans to carry CSN on Channel 78. Please check your local listings.
