Wittenberg Falls At Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers made the trip north to Wooster and kept it close for a while before falling 9-3. The loss dropped Wittenberg to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

The Tigers picked up goals from sophomore Adam Morrison, freshman Mike Coursault and senior Trevor Carlson. Assists were credited to Morrison and freshman Ross Holland. Wittenberg's goals came in the second, third and fourth periods, while Wooster had the lone score in the first quarter, two more in the second, a game-breaking four tallies in the third quarter and two more insurance goals in the final 15 minutes.

Junior Kevin Adams turned in another solid performance in goal with 13 saves. The Tigers were outshot 34-21 and were beaten to 40 of the game's 65 ground balls. A key stat was extra-man opportunities as Wittenberg went 0-for-6, compared to Wooster's 2-for-5.
