The Tiger men's lacrosse team dropped its fourth straight game last week, and for the second straight time it was nationally ranked Ohio Wesleyan doing the job. Eight days after the Bishops, the undefeated conference champion for 2003, beat Wittenberg at Edwards-Maurer Field by a score of 20-0, the result was an 18-4 decision. Wittenberg did get a fine offensive performance out of freshman attacker Mike Sweeney (Cincinnati, Ohio/Indian Hill), who scored a career-high three goals in the loss.

The 2003 season concludes this week with nonconference games against Kenyon and Wooster. The Lords defeated Wittenberg in Springfield 13-4 earlier this season in an NCAC game, while Wooster was an 11-5 winner over the Tigers in an NCAC game hosted by the Scots earlier this season.

The home game on Saturday against Wooster will be the final home game for five Tiger seniors - Chris Kothe (Grand Rapids, Mich./East), Dan Patterson (St. Louis, Mo./DeSmet Jesuit), Spencer Dunning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mariemont), Ross Mellgren (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) and Wes Enicks (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley).
