Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, coach Laszlo is no stranger to adventures as his childhood as an ‘Army Brat’, which included traveling throughout the US, ultimately landing him here at Wittenberg University in the fall of 2015.

His playing, leadership and coaching career spans back thru high school where he was Captain of the State Championship team his senior year at Punahou in Honolulu. He also contributed to two additional Hawaii State Championship teams as a sophomore and junior.  Playing in the Callaway Junior World Championship, BIG I, Adam and Golfweek Junior championships, Laszlo has had an opportunity to see where and how golfers grow into their game personally and then further excel in their collegiate careers.  He also helped develop other players as an Assistant Coach in the First Tee Program of Hawaii, being selected as 2012 First Tee of Hawaii Volunteer of the Year. He also played in the Nature Valley First Tee Open in 2014 at Pebble Beach.

His entrance as a player at Wittenberg in 2015 spans a thrilling four years of collegiate golf, earning him Freshman of the Year in the Midwest in 2016, numerous NCAC Player of the Week accolades, two time NCAA Division III All-American and Wittenberg’s Rick Lyons award for best player in 2018 and 2019, ultimately culminating as the 2019 NCAC Player of the Year and semi-finalist nomination for national Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year award.   Coach Laszlo has won both Division I and Division III tournaments individually, while also leading the Tigers to team victories in both those events.  He  excelled as part of numerous Wittenberg teams throughout hir four-year career, including playing on the National Championship team in 2017, continuing the now 10-year tradition of NCAC Men’s Championships, and finally serving as Team Captain his last two years as a member of the Men’s team.  During his internships between collegiate years, he has supported the First Tee nationally with camps and tournaments, received the PJ Boatwright USGA internship through the Miami Valley Golf Association, and assisted in various capacities in USGA tournaments and numerous golf courses within the greater central and southern Ohio area.

He was selected in summer 2019 as the first ever Graduate Assistant Golf Coach in program history, helping transition the teams through the 2019-2020 shortened season and current COVID pandemic by leading both teams in coaching support in the Fall 2019 season, actively restarting the Wittenberg Men’s and Women’s home tournaments for the 2020-21 season, recruiting for the incoming 2020 and 2021 classes, alumni support, developing the Men’s and Women’s Captains for the upcoming year, and managing the financials of the program for the 2019-2020 shortened season.  Although one of the most junior coaches in the NCAA, Coach Laszlo’s experience has been broad with a variety of mentors and support in which he intends to continue to maintain a legacy of excellence in the Witt Golf programs.

“It is an honor to be afforded this opportunity in my second home," said Laszlo. "Witt has given so much to me and I am thrilled to give back and make this an incredible experience for my players.  It truly is a different look as a coach, but my life and experience at Witt has prepared me for this and the support system I have around me will keep me grounded and focused on my scholar athletes in the Witt Golf program, having them excel while enjoying their journey here.”
