SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg men's golf team is ranked 14th nationally in the first Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches Poll for the 2024 spring season, which was released on Friday.

The Tigers received 166 points in the poll and are tied for 14th with Averett.

Methodist received all 15 first-place votes in the poll and is ranked No. 1 with 375 points. Emory, Oglethorpe, Illinois Wesleyan and Lynchburg round out the top five.

In the fall portion of their schedule, the Tigers won the team title at both the Ted Barclay Invitational and the Wittenberg Fall Classic. They were also third at the Wabash Invitational, sixth at the O'Briant Jensen Memorial and 12th at both the Tartan Invitational and NCAA Division III Fall Preview.

Senior J.F. Aber (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) leads the team with a 72.9 average through 13 rounds on the season. Junior Joshua Wright (Wadsworth, Ohio/Akron Hoban) is second with a 73.5 average through 13 rounds.

The Tigers open the spring portion of their 2024 schedule on March 4-5 in Savannah, Ga., at the Savannah Invitational and Port City Invitational.
