Men’s Golf Finishes 6th After Hot Start

Greensboro, NC-The Tigers traveled to North Carolina to compete in the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial as one out of 18 teams. The team ended the first round in 2nd place but finished 6th after day two and were within ten strokes of 4 of the five teams that finished ahead of them. 

The Tigers were led by JF Aber and Jacob Yarbrough, who both shot a 146 (+4) and tied for 10th. Aber carded a first round 72 (+1) and a second found 74 (+3), while Yarbrough did the opposite, shooting a first round 74 (+3) and improving on the second to 72 (+1). 

Mark Sulek and Josh Wright also tied each other in the 20th position. Sulek shot a first round 74 (+3) and second round 75 (+4) for a total of 149 (+7). Wright carded a first round 73 (+2) and second round 75 (+5) to also finish 7 over par with a 149. 

Grant Klepitsch finished within the top 50, tied for 43rd. In the first round, he shot a one over par 72, but finished the second round with an 82 (+11) to finish at 154 (+12). 

Austin Georger rounded out the Wittenberg golfers, tied for 96th. In the first round, Georger carded a 81 (+10), followed by an 88 (+17) in the second for a total of 169 (+27). 

Up Next-The Tigers will be back on the road on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday the tenth, for both the Tartan Invitation in Pennsylvania and the Wabash Fall invite in Indiana.
