Trio Of Tigers Earn GCAA All-American Honors

Three Tigers of the Wittenberg men's golf team have earned Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America honors. Senior Colin Laszlo and junior Cameron Willis were named to the second team, while junior Ryan Mallette earned honorable mention. This is the 10th consecutive season the Wittenberg golf program has garnered All-American status and the second straight All-American season for Laszlo and Mallette. Laszlo rounded out the season, finishing in 11th in the final national GolfStat poll. Willis earned a final GolfStat ranking of 15th amongst all Division III golfers, while Mallette closed out the year ranked 28th in the country.

Laszlo spent most of the season ranked amongst the Top 10 Division III players, while junior Cameron Willis followed close behind, heading into the NCAA Division III Tournament at No. 16. Willis capped off the regular season, capturing the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship individual title with a two-day score of 140. Both Laszlo and Mallette earned All-NCAC second team honors with a two-day final score of 149. Laszlo finished T-10 at the NCAA Tournament with a four-day score of 72-77-76-73=298 (+10). Willis was the second Tiger to post a Top 10 finish at the 2019 NCAA Tournament, finishing in a T-10 with a four-day score of 72-70-80-76=298 (+10). Laszlo and Willis each closed out the 2019 season with a final scoring average of 73.18 over 28 rounds of competition. Mallette wrapped up his season with a 74.21 scoring average in 28 rounds of competition while posting a Top 50 finish at the NCAA Division III Tournament.

This year's award winners takes the Tiger total up to 38 All-American award winners in program history. With Laszlo and Mallette earning All-American status for the second consecutive, the duo becomes the 12th and 13th time a Tiger has earned the honor during their time in the Red and White.
