Men's Golf with Fair Finish to Fall Season

Xenia, OhioChris Eigner, senior, walked away from the final green three over par after two rounds of action, giving him second place honors. The Tigers wrapped up their fall season close to home at the Cedarville Invitational, where the men tied for fourth in a field of 10 Division-II teams. Hosted by the Country Club of the North in Xenia, Ohio, the Tigers faired well through two rounds of play to finish the fall season shooting 316 and 309 in the two rounds for an overall total of 625. The Tigers saw a seven-stroke improvement from round one to round two, giving them a boost from fifth to fourth overall finish.

Eigner led the way for the Tigers, shooting 70 in day one and 77 in day two, followed up by Isaac Hartley in 12th with 77 and 76. Eigner finished round one in the lead with his two-under-par performance, however Ohio University's lead golfer was able to overcome the gap to take the lead. Sophomore Daniel Castleberry jumped in the leaderboard after a round two improvement from 52nd on Monday to T-31st overall after shooting 163 in the two-day affair. Rookies Will Birkholz and Cameron Lloyd topped off the Wittenberg squad with 33rd and T-36th place finishes respectively.
