DAYTON, Ohio—In a field of all Division I competitors, Wittenberg men's golf not only held their own, but led the pack at Monday and Tuesday's Wright State Invitational. The Tigers fired a 1,080 (+15) at the Par 71, 6,666 yard Miami Valley Golf Club, finishing atop the leaderboard as a team.
Individually, Wittenberg saw sophomore Colin Laszlo card rounds of 70 (-1), 70 (-1) and 69 (-2) to earn medalist honors with a combined score of 209 (-4). Laszlo edged out Jacob Poore, who entered the clubhouse on Tuesday three-under for the Norse of Northern Kentucky.
After finishing even and in fourth place with back to back rounds of 71 after day one, Cameron Willis finished tied for 11th place on Tuesday, tied at five-over with Austin Sipe of Wright State, and Jacob Jackson of Northern Kentucky.
Wittenberg's win as a team is the third of the 2016-17 circuit, as the Tigers earned first place finishes at the Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational on September 12, as well as at the Members Invitational on March 9.
