Greensboro, N.C. – Wittenberg Men's Golf travelled across state lines for their final match of the fall on Monday and Tuesday. Sedgefield Country Club played host for the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial and 81 golfers from 12 colleges, including the current top-ranked Huntingdon College. The Tigers finished in third, only nine strokes behind the eighth-ranked Guilford College. A second group of Tigers tied McDaniel College for 13th of 15 groups.
DAY ONE
- The Tigers opened with a strong performance atthe O'Briant-Jensen Memorial, finishing in second, only 18 strokes over par.
- Senior Garrett Brickley led the way for the Wittenberg's first group out, shooting one under par.
- Sophmore Isaac Hartley finished one stroke behind Brickley to finish Monday at even-par.
- Sophomore Cooper Taylor led Wittenberg's second group-out with a score of 74.
DAY TWO
- The second-ranked Tigers finished Tuesday with a score of 293, wrapping up their fall campaign with a two-day combined score of 583, good enough for a third place finish overall
- Along with Brickley, senior Sam Stilwell carded the best score for the Tigers first group out, shooting par.
- Stillwell wrapped up the two-day memorial shooting 146, Brickley tied for seventh at 143, and Hartley finished the invitational with a combined score of four over par, 146.
- Colin Laszlo led the second group on day two, shooting five over par. The sophomore wrapped up his fall with a score of 155 at the Memorial.
- Taylor wrapped up Tuesday in 38th overall and a score of 154.
Tiger Men's Golf will resume in the spring on March 6, 2017 at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
