Tigers Own Leaderboard in Meadville, Bring Home Team and Individual First Place Honors

MEADVILLE, Ohio—For the second tournament in a row, the Wittenberg Tigers men's golf team showed well amongst a stiff field of competition. This week, Wittenberg took home first place honors at the Guy Kuhn Memorial Invitational at Country Club of Meadville, hosted by Allegheny. The Tigers managed to take home first place after posting scores of 301 and 293 for an 18 over par 594 on the weekend.

The Tigers edged out Carnegie Melon, who finished in second with a two-day score of 608, and Ohio Wesleyan who finished in third with 609 strokes. Individually, Wittenberg finished one, two and three in the player standings, as Colin Laszlo took home first place, as well as NCAC Golfer of the Week Honors, after posting scores of 70 and 73 for a two-day score of a one-under 143.

Sam Stilwell finished in second place on the weekend, with a two-over 146 after carding a 71 and 75 on the 6,808-yard Par 72 course. Rounding out the Tigers trio was Garrett Brickley, who finished three-over in the tournament with rounds of 76 and 71.

Wittenberg looks to continue their hot-start as the team shifts focus to the NCAA Division III Preview on September 18-20 at the El Campeon & Las Colinas Courses in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
