MILLINGTON, Tenn. - For the Wittenberg Tigers, the key to their fourth tournament title of the 2014-15 season was nine soggy holes.

Trailing by three strokes after the first round of the Rhodes Mirimichi Spring Classic, Wittenberg made the most of a rain-shortened second round, carding the day's best score of two-over-par 146 to pull out a two-stroke victory over the host team. Wittenberg finished with a total score of 436 to edge out Rhodes at 438 and McMurry at 443.

Not only has Wittenberg won four tournaments in the 2014-15 season, but the Tigers have finished in the top two in six of their seven starts. As usual, the path to success at Rhodes was paved by tremendous balanced throughout the Wittenberg lineup.

It started with matching ninth-place finishes by senior Alex Andrews (Kirtland, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) and sophomore Sam Stilwell (Dominion, Va./Sterling). Both players carded total scores of 109 over 27 holes on the par-72, 7,221-yard Mirimichi Golf Club.

The rest of the Tigers were right behind, starting with junior Sam Geise (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) in 13th place with a score of 110. Senior John Chaney (Gates Mills, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) placed 16th with a 111 and sophomore Mark David Wright (Westerville, Ohio/Tree of Life) rounded out the lineup in 26th place with a 113.
