SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Two up and two down for the Wittenberg Tigers. Just 24 hours after capturing the Transylvania Fall Invitational to start the 2014-15 season, the Tigers picked up the first-place hardware in their own Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational.

Playing 36 holes at historic Springfield Country Club, designed nearly a century again by famed golf course architect Donald Ross, Wittenberg put four players in the top 15 en route in the individual standings en route to a team score of 590 and an 11-stroke victory over Spalding. Ohio Northern rounded out the top three with a score of 610.

Wittenberg was paced individually by another stellar performance by senior Alex Andrews (Kirtland, Ohio/Gilmour Academy). He looped the par-72 course even through 18 holes and then heated up in the afternoon's second round, going three-under 69 to finish with a 141.

That score was one better than Wittenberg junior Sam Geise (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro), who carded matching 71s while playing as an individual. He was joined in the top-five by another Tiger playing as an individual as sophomore Sam Stilwell (Sterling, Va./Dominion) posted rounds of 77 and 69 to finish in a tie for fourth with a 146.

The rest of the starting lineup included senior Jared Wissinger (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) with a 148 to place eighth, sophomore Mark David Wright (Westerville, Ohio/Tree of Life) with a 150 to finish 12th, senior John Chaney (Gates Mills, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) with a 151 in 14th place, and sophomore Garrett Brickley (Pickerington, Ohio/North) with a 154 to finish 25th.

Other Tigers in the field as individuals included freshman Dylan Ahonen (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) with a 151 to tie for 14th, freshman Brennan Whitis (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) with a 155 to place 28th, junior JP Holliday (Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial) with a 158 to finish 35th, and freshman Maxim Boone (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) with a 160 to take 40th.
