MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Wittenberg Tigers won their third tournament of the 2013-14 season with a dominating performance at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate, hosted by Huntingdon College.

Wittenberg recorded the best round both days of the tournament en route to a 16-stroke victory against the 10-team field. The Tigers, ranked first in the most recent NCAA Division III poll, posted rounds of 290 and 302 to compile a total of 592, far ahead of seventh-ranked LaGrange, which finished at 308.

Wittenberg has finished in the top four in each of its first seven tournaments during the 2013-14 season, including championship trophies in three of its last five starts.

Individually, the Tigers put three players in the top four positions and five in the top nine. Leading the way was senior David Wetterich (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle), who carded rounds of 71 and 75 to finish in second place at 146, one stroke off the lead.

Right behind was junior John Chaney (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Gilmour Academy), who finished third with rounds of 71 and 76, and senior Ben Hogenkamp (Minster, Ohio/Minster) with a two-day total of 149 to finish fourth. Rounding things out were junior Alex Andrews (Kirtland, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) in eighth place with a 152 and sophomore Sam Geise (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) in ninth with a 153.
