Springfield, Ohio — After leading the Wittenberg Tigers to their third straight North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, Craig Osterbrock, class of 2013 from Wilmington, Ohio, and Jack Uecker, class of 2014 from Akron, Ohio, have earned PING All-Great Lakes Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Osterbrock has earned first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and first-team all-region honors in each of his first three collegiate campaigns, and he is now a candidate for a third straight All-America award. After winning the 2011 NCAC Championship Series and the Bob Nye Award as the conference championship medalist, Osterbrock repeated the feat in 2012 and even added the Dick Gordin Award as the NCAC Player of the Year.
Osterbrock headed into this week's NCAA Division III Championships with the Tigers' best stroke average for a third straight year at 75.2, which ranks 57th in the nation. He won three tournaments and recorded five top-10 finishes during the 2011-12 season.
Uecker has enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign, checking in at No. 4 on the team with a 76.2 stroke average, an improvement of 2.6 strokes per round from his freshman season. Uecker earned first-team All-NCAC honors after placing third in the NCAC Championship Series, and he has five top-10 finishes in the 2011-12 season.
The team's victory in the NCAC Championship Series earned the Tigers their third straight trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Wittenberg has made a total of 18 NCAA Division III Tournament appearances and 19 national tournament appearances overall, including a 1974 berth in the NCAA College Division Tournament.
