Tigers Compete Well Against Loaded Field At Northern Kentucky

BUTLER, Ky. — The Wittenberg Tigers stepped outside of NCAA Division III competition for the last time in the 2010-11 season and placed eighth at the Northern Kentucky Spring Classic.

The other seven teams in the field were all scholarship programs, but the Tigers competed well, finishing 40 strokes out of the top spot held by Central Missouri but just 20 out of third place. Wittenberg posted stellar scores of 312 and 304 in the two rounds.

Sophomore Craig Osterbrock (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) was the Tigers' top finisher in a tie for 18th place with a two-day total of 150, just six over par. He was followed closely by junior Ricky Boerner (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) in a tie for 29th place with a score of 152, just eight over par.

Also of note was the play of sophomore Jonny Price (Dublin, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne), who carded rounds of 79 and 78 to place in a tie for 42nd place.
