Wittenberg Takes Second in Deep Field at Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg men's golf team enjoyed one of its most impressive outings in recent memory with a second-place finish in a high-profile field at the Ted Barclay Invitational at Granville Golf Club. Among the teams that the Tigers outscored, Wittenberg topped four conference opponents, including Ohio Wesleyan and host Denison.

A two-day total of 601 demonstrated constistency with a 301 backed up with a 300 on the par-71 course. Leading the way, freshman Brian Rolland (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington)carded a five-over-par 146 in the two days, including a team-best 72 on Saturday.

Sophomore Patrick Beausejour (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) added a 149, with a 75 followed by a 74 on Sunday. He joined Rolland and freshman Jordan Millice (Cable, Ohio/Triad) among the top 10 individual finishers in the field more than 80 competitors. Millice shot a 150, bringing in a 76 and 74 for his two-round total.

The Tigers took second behind DePauw while tying with Mount Union in the 14-team field. Up next for Head Coach Jeff Roope and his rapidly improving team is Ohio Wesleyan's Strimer Memorial Invitational at Glencross Golf Club and Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
