Tiger Men's Basketball Celebrates Senior Day With Win Over Oberlin

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Basketball team celebrated the career's of three senior's on Saturday afternoon ahead of their tip-off against the Oberlin College, honoring Levi Boettcher, Brice Hill and Cooper Lewis. The day capped off with a 72-63 win over the Yeomen. Five Tigers found their way into double figures on the day, compiling a nearly 46 percent shooting percent as a unit from the floor. Wittenberg knocked down 14 shots from the floor in both halves. Including knocking down an efficient 14 of 28 through the second 20-minute set and winning the battle inside 28-20 against Oberlin on the day.

Josh Tolliver exploded off the bench for a team-high 16-point scoring effort. Tolliver went 6 of 8 from the floor, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.

Trey Killens added 14 points, while reeling in eight rebounds and coming up with two steals. Boettcher added 12 points, going 5 of 9 from the floor, as he and Tolliver were the only two Tigers' with multiple made three-pointers on the evening. Boettcher finished the game 2 of 6 from deep range. Boettcher and Killens tied for a team-high eight rebounds.

Jeff Queen and Hill each tallied 10 points and two assists apiece. Queen went 4 of 5 from the floor, including seven rebounds. Hill knocked down 3 of 8 from the floor on the day.

With this win, Wittenberg has secured the 5th seed in the upcoming NCAC Tournament which is set to begin on Tuesday, February 21. The Tigers will travel to Denison for a 7:30 pm NCAC Quarterfinal tip against the Big Red.
