Tigers Fall To Fighting Scots In 125th Meeting

Springfield, OH – In one of Division III biggest men's basketball rivalry games, the Wittenberg Tigers hosted the College of Wooster Fighting Scots for the 125th meeting. Wittenberg fell in the tightly fought contest, 79-76. The Tigers held a five-point lead at the break, 38-33, shooting 60 percent from the floor. The Tigers continued their efficient shooting night, converting on 13 of 24  from the floor through the final 20-minutes.

Levi Boettcher led the Wittenberg scoring effort with 22 points. Boettcher also cleaned up on the glass, leading the Tiger rebounding effort with six. Trey Killens cut through the Wooster defense, putting up 17 points on 7 of 11 from the field, dishing out four assists. Jerry Saunders Jr., Josh Tolliver, and Cameron Harrison each added nine points for the Tiger effort on the night.

Wittenberg will travel to Wabash on Wednesday, January 18, continuing NCAC action with a midweek showdown. Tipoff with the Little Giants is set for 7:00 pm.
