Wittenberg men's basketball junior Connor Seipel was named to the D3Hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region First Team on Monday (3/11) afternoon, adding the NABC Great Lakes All-District Second Team award to his postseason honors. Seipel closed out the 2018-19 season by averaging a double-double, posting just over 17 points per game and pulling down 10 rebounds per game. The big-man finished the season 18th in the country with 15 double-doubles to his credit. The Columbus native converted an efficient 67.5 percent from the floor, while serving up just over 2.0 assists per game. With 27 games scoring in double figures, Seipel posted a season and career-high of 33 points in a 92-84 win at Oberlin on January 19th. Seipel had a career night on the glass in the Wittenberg Kiwanis Holiday Classic, reeling in 16 rebounds in a 74-52 win over Wilmington. 

Seipel helped lead the Tigers to an overall record of 24-6 and mark of 14-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Part of the season highlights include the Tigers claiming their second consecutive NCAC Tournament title on their rival Wooster's home floor. Wittenberg also earned its second consecutive NCAA Tournament bid behind the offensive and defensive efforts of Seipel
