Allentown, Pa. – The Wittenberg men's basketball jumped out to an early double-digit lead over the Eagles of Juniata College in the final game of the Scotty Wood Classic on Saturday afternoon, brushing past Juniata 80-60 by the time the final horn sounded. The Tigers maintained a 41-26 lead going into the half. Wittenberg would go on to knock down 6 of 11 attempts from beyond the arc to start out the game, holding the Eagles to shooting just 37 percent from the field through the first half. The Tiger offense was fueled by Connor Seipel, posting his second straight 20-point game from the Scotty Wood Classic. Seipel finished off his first double-double of the season by adding 10 rebounds to his total.

Game Breakdown
The Tigers ran away with the first half lead, extending their advantage through the early going to 14-3. Wittenberg kept their foot on the gas in the opening minutes, holding Juniata scoreless for three minutes, before the Eagles scored their second basket of the game as the Tigers maintained a 10-point advantage. Landon Martin helped push the Tiger lead out to 25-10, scoring on back-to-back-to-back plays, before James Johnson capped off the Tiger run with a made three-pointer. Seven different Wittenberg players found their way into the scoring column in the first half, as the Tigers extended their lead out to 41-26 at the half. Wittenberg came out of the break, outscoring Juniata 39-34 in the second half. The Tiger bench provided 21 points in the second half, as Wittenberg would go on to shoot 53 percent from the field. Wittenberg held Juniata to 44 percent from the field over the final 20-minutes. Wittenberg maintained their lead throughout the second half, extending the red and white advantage out to as many as 29 points with just over six minutes left in the second half.
Who Stood Out
Martin would tally 13 points off the bench for the Tigers, knocking down six of seven shots from the field, while adding three rebounds. Jordan Pumroy finished his as night as the third Wittenberg scorer in double-digits, posting 11 points shooting 80 percent from the field while converting on three of three attempts from beyond the arc. Jacob Bertemes would provide the assistance on both ends of the floor, tallying eight points and four rebounds, adding three assists and two steals on the night.

Wittenberg will take part in the OAC/NCAC Challenge starting on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan to take on Capital University at 6:00 PM for a showdown with the Crusaders. The Tigers will finish off the second leg of the challenge on Sunday, Nov. 25 when they take on the Cardinals of Otterbein University at 4:00 PM from Capital University.
