10/16/17 Blog #2 #TigersUpNorth

Yesterday, we played our first two games!  It was a lot of fun playing some new competition and seeing how the team's ten practice days have come together.  Afterwards, we visited the Montreal Biodome and site of the 1976 Olympics.  It was awesome to see the full concrete dome, the Olympic rings and where the swimming events took place.  We tried to go off the high dive but realized 98ft was a bit too high for us land sport athletes. Our new tour guide George showed us around, sharing some historical facts about the city.

In the evening, we all split up into small groups for dinner.  Somehow, a lot of us ended up at the same place.  Logan and I tried the Poutine, a Quebec favorite!  It is fries covered in brown gravy and cheese curds. The waitress told us adding smoked meat was the Montreal thing to do, so that's what we did.  I know it may not sound the best, but it was actually really good.  It did, though, definitely taste like it was bad for you.  I'd definitely try it again.  Also while out, we were taught some new card games.  They called one "ponies", where the aces are the ponies and each card flipped indicated the movement of the pony down the imaginary raceway.  If you want some further explanation, feel free to email me.

The trip seems to get better and better each day.  Some of us have talked about maybe not returning back to the states….   #TigersUpNorth
