SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg senior Shane Edwards was named third team All-Great Lakes Region by d3hoops.com on Tuesday. Edwards has picked up his fair-share of hardware for the Tigers this season, as the Perrysburg native was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year on March 1, as well as honorable mention All-NCAC.
Edwards concluded his career donning the red and white with 702 points, 567 rebounds, 248 assists, 130 steals and 30 blocks. The 2016-17 campaign saw Edwards elevate his game to new heights, averaging eight points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per-game.
The senior guard became the Tiger's first d3hoops.com All-Great Lakes Region selection since 2013-14 and the first NCAC Defensive Player of the Year in school history.
