Tigers Lose Close Game in Conference Opener

Springfield, OH- The Tigers welcomed Washington and Jefferson to Edwards-Mauer Field for their first conference game of the season. The game went into overtime after great defense and the Presidents came away with a 2-1 win.  

Wittenberg started off the scoring with a goal in the first half with Maddy Krasnow finishing after a rebound off of the Presidents goalie. In the second half, Wittenberg had 6 more chances, but couldn't capitalize, while the Presidents tied the game and after taking the game into overtime tied at one, they netted the winning goal as well. 

  

Notables: Wittenberg outshot Washington and Jefferson, 15-12 and led in penalty corners as well, 10-5. 

Leaders: Krasnow, with the only goal for the Tigers, also led the team in shots with 4 and Emmy Kuijten led the team with shots on goal with 3. Cailtlin Archdeacon led the team in goal, saving 8 of the 10 shots that came her way. 

Up Next: The Tigers will play Allegheny at Edwards-Mauer Stadium on Sunday, September 24th at 1:00 PM.
