Tigers Drop Non-Conference Match-Up With Battling Bishops

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned to Edwards-Maurer Field to compete against the Battling Bishop in a non-conference match-up. The Tigers who were coming off of a close game against Kenyon looked to improve but were unable after a close 1-0 loss to the Battling Bishops.

Wittenberg fell early in the first quarter but then were able to hold off the undefeated Ohio Wesleyan team. In goal for the Red & White was Caitlin Archdeacon, facing 13 shots on the day with 12 saves. The Tigers were able to draw two penalty corners with Regan Mazzulli getting Wittenberg's only shot off on goal.

NCAC Leaders: Caroline Cairns sits at number ten in the NCAC for shots taken with a total of 16. Katie Webber sits in the top ten for goals in the NCAC at number four with five on the season. Also in the top ten for goals is Mazzulli at number nine with four. After an overtime goal against DePauw, Mazzulli lands in the top 10 for game-winning goals. Mazzulli and Webber also land in the top ten for points on the year at number two and four along with Meredith Johnson at seven. Lastly for Wittenberg, Caitlin Archdeacon sits at number three for saves in the conference with 29 on the season.
