GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers went toe-to-toe with North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) regular season champion Kenyon before dropping a narrow 1-0 decision.

The loss was Wittenberg's third of the season against Kenyon, which improved to 17-2 overall in the 2015 season after posting a 13-1 NCAC regular season mark. It was the Tigers' second one-goal road loss to the Ladies, however, and it was just the fourth loss in the last 12 games for Wittenberg, which saw its season end with records of 8-11 overall and 8-6 in the league.

The game's lone goal came late in the first half as Kenyon's Katelyn Hutchinson found Abby Roswell worked a give-and-go from close range to put the Ladies on the board. Other than that flurry, the Tiger defense held up well, backstopped by junior goalkeeper Sarah Brownell (Ocnomowoc, Wis./University Lake School) with four saves.

Both teams finished with 11 shots in the game, and Wittenberg held a 13-7 advantage in penalty corners. The Tigers were awarded five penalty corners in the final three minutes and even had one resulting shot sneak past the Kenyon defense and into the goal, only to be waved off by the officials.

Sophomore Maddie Goelz (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) led Wittenberg's offense with four shots, while senior Paige Vanerstrom (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) added three and sophomore Audrey Coler (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) finished with two.
