GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers saw their 2014 season come to a close with a 2-0 road loss to Kenyon in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament semifinals.

The win was Kenyon's third of the season against Wittenberg, which finished the campaign with records of 9-11 overall and 7-7 in the NCAC. The fourth-seeded Tigers yielded one goal in each half against the top-seeded Ladies, who improved to 18-2 overall and will host the NCAC Tournament championship game on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Kenyon's Shannon Hart scored both goals in the game, tallying a first-half score in the 18th minute and a second-half goal in the 45th. Both were unassisted.

Kenyon put together a 20-6 advantage in shots in the game, in addition to an 11-7 edge in penalty corner opportunities. The Tiger defense held well, however, backstopped by sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Brownell (Ocnomowoc, Wis./University Lake School) with 10 saves.

Offensively, senior Beth Warning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the way with three shots, while junior Paige Vanerstrom (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), freshman Carlijn van den Berg (Zwolle, The Netherlands/Thorbecke) and senior Kim Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) each added one attempt on the Kenyon goal.
