GAMBIER, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers were unable to pull of the upset, dropping a 6-1 decision to host Kenyon.

The loss moved Wittenberg to 6-10 overall, but more importantly the Tigers are now 4-7 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) with three regular season games remaining. Wittenberg likely needs to win all three games to reach the four-team NCAC Tournament at season's end.

On the other hand, Kenyon likely clinched a berth in the NCAC Tournament. The Ladies improved to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the league with the win.

The Ladies outshot the Tigers by a 34-13 margin, and Kenyon cashed in three of those scoring opportunities in each half. Wittenberg finally got one goal back with 4:29 left in the game as junior Beth Warning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) scored off a feed from junior Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard).

Freshman Laura Jansing (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) was credited with 13 saves in the game, while two Tiger defenders made defensive saves. Senior Mallory Skrobot (Dublin, Ohio/Watterson) and junior Alena Mohler (Powell, Ohio/Pfafftown Reagan (NC)) were both credited with stops after shots initially eluded the Wittenberg goalkeeper.
